  2. We have reasonably enough laws & regulations for senior citizens but sincerety and seriousness of implementations is utmost required which Government machinery only can not do and cope, so, only service organisations can and should take part of responsibility to supplement Government efforts to make it success.
I am a senior citizen member of Mohali Senior Citizens Assn on a regular on & off visit to USA to be with my childern. People here are more volanteer nature and serious to the purpose & cause to services. US Government do not do 100%, but assist volanteer service organisations fully to make it real success to make it more than 100%.
I love to see it happen with us too.

  3. Indian Railways are NOT implementing the benefits allocated to Senior Citizen. In many of railways stations specifically in South Central Railways, there are no specific counters for senior citizen. For example : at Kachiguda, railways station. Many a times senior citizen are forced to wait along with others, as there is no specifi provision. On enquiry with the supervisor about the facility, he expressed his inability as sufficient manpower is not provided by the authorities. Like this there are quite good number of stations where required attention is not given, inspite of specific request.

Secondly, senior citizen are not given lowe berth automatically. They have to request and seek the mercy of the booking clerk, while reserving the ticket.

The authorities have to take note and act.

  4. (7) Travel by Indian Railways

    (a) Travel by Indian Railways is 30% cheaper for all Senior Citizens who are 60 years in age or above. Indian Railways provides this fare concession to elderlies in all its trains including Shatabdi, Rajdhani and Jan Shatabdi trains. Kindly note that while travelling all Senior Citizens need to carry proof of their Date of Birth / Age with a Photo ID Card.

    (b) There are separate Counters / Queues for Senior Citizens at all Railway Stations for purchase, booking or cancellation of tickets.
i HAVE NOT SEEN ANY SEPERATE TICKET WINDOW AS MENTIONED ABOVE IN MAJOR BIG STATION LIKE BHOPAL AND INDORE OFCOURSE IT IS THERE FOR RESERVATION COUNTER AT BOTH THE PLACE
THERE SHOULD BE SEPERATE PROVISION FOR PURCHASING OPEN TICKET FROM REGULAR BOOKING COUNTER
ALSO IN BANKS THERE SHOULD BE SEPERATE QUE FOR SENIOR CITIZEN
